THE B.T.S. CHILDREN ART PROGRAMS
B.T.S. Children Art Program
Children ages 3 -12 can participate in the B.T.S. Children Art Program (B.T.S-CAP), where they will gain knowledge to become creative problem solvers through hands-on arts curriculum. They will learn disciplines including music, singing, dancing, drama, visual arts, media arts, and basketball. Pre-teens Leadership Groups and intermediate level art classes will help prepare them for success in high school and college. All students who take classes throughout the year will be able to showcase their creative work during the B.T.S. Events.
The B.T.S. Children Art Program is open after school weekdays from 3 to 9 PM.

Vocal Program

B.T.S. Vocal Program combines technical and creative development with continuous live performing experience, B.T.S. Vocal education has no parallel in the world of contemporary vocal training. Programs are designed to build your technique and stylistic identity as well as gain confidence in your abilities plus train you to be an industry professional.
Take the skills you develop in classes and private lessons directly to the stage learning not only how to sing, but how to communicate effectively with a live audience whether you’re interpreting contemporary styles or showcasing your original material.B.T.S. unique creative performing environment challenges you to expand the limits of your vocal instrument while creating and exploring your own stylistic identity.
Dance

Kids in B.T.S. dance classes learn beginner to intermediate level hip hop dance and are also exposed to a variety of dance styles through seasonal visiting artist workshops that have included folkloric Haitian dance, West African dance, ballet and modern.
Drama

In our drama classes, youth use improvisation and playwriting to learn about themselves and the world around them. Classes also teach key literacy skills including reading, understanding narrative and building a love of storytelling. Intermediate level theater students help to devise and perform in an original play each year presented in collaboration with their peers.
Music
Children learn how to play different types of instruments taught by professional teachers.
As a performer, they develop their keyboard skills and explore a range of contemporary styles including funk, R&B, blues, jazz, country, rock, fusion, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian under the direction of some of Spring Hill’s best working professionals.
At the same time, they learn how to use the electronic keyboard’s vast capabilities for sampling, drum programming, production, digital recording, and arranging.
Visual Arts

Visual art students are introduced to various mediums including painting, sculpture, collage, screen printing. Youth build creative skills, find their artistic voice and understand how art can create social change. Students ages 9-12 have the opportunity to contribute to our community mural projects with the help of a visiting artist.
Media Arts
Instructor: Open
Media Arts students learn basic skills in graphic design, video production, and digital photography while also building an understanding of technology and media as powerful tools for communication and change. Students ages 9-12 are eligible to participate in music production classes where they create their own songs and compose beats using garage band. All Media Arts classes prepare students for participation in our Teen Media Program.
Basketball
Children will learn different basic skills of how to play basketball taught by professional coaches.
